Gracie Donnell, Student Intern
Supervised by Annie Tam, MEd, LPC
Gracie is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and young adults on their journeys of self-discovery and growth. Gracie earned a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma, and is pursuing a Master's in Clinical Counseling from Southern Methodist University. Her diverse experience working with various ages and populations has deepened her understanding of individual needs, barriers, and strengths, allowing her to see each client within their unique context. Gracie is passionate about working with her clients during impactful transitional ages, with hopes to help them grow into their most joyful, authentic selves.
Gracie believes in the inherent potential of every person to thrive, even when they are at their lowest point. Her faith inspires her to see each client through a lens of unconditional acceptance and grace, and she is passionate about developing meaningful counseling relationships with each of her clients. She creates a warm and accepting space where clients can explore their emotions and experiences, develop coping skills and tools, and build resilience. She believes her role as a counselor is to provide a genuine, empathic, and unconditionally accepting environment where clients feel safe to fully express themselves. She then walks with her clients as they learn who they truly are and how to live authentically with that increased understanding.
By fostering a genuine connection, Gracie encourages and empowers individuals to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Though counseling may be uncomfortable at times, Gracie believes counseling can aid in self-exploration and help clients reconnect with their identity and purpose. Above all else, Gracie hopes to instill in her clients the belief that they are worthy of being fully known and loved, regardless of circumstance.
Gracie specializes in working with children ages 2+, adolescents, and young adults facing behavioral challenges, life transitions, identity exploration, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship struggles, and faith-related questions. Gracie employs individual talk-therapy, activity therapy, and play therapy modalities to account for the developmental levels and communication styles of her clients. She offers both in-person and telehealth counseling to provide flexibility and accessibility. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, spending time with friends and family, exploring new restaurants, watching OU football, and going on walks at the Katy Trail.
