Jackie Chavez, is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. Jackie received her Bachelors degree in psychology from New Mexico State University and her Master’s degree in Education Counseling from Texas Christian University. Jackie provides therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked with people struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, grief, trauma, family dynamics, and more. For the past 13 years Jackie has been helping others through their struggles and crisis on a journey of hope and healing. Jackie has worked with MHMR of Tarrant County on their mobile crisis outreach team and educated the community on suicide prevention from 2010-2016. She was honored to serve her community as a trauma therapist at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center from 2016-2020. She is now working for Dallas ISD’s Mental Health Services Department serving the students and families of Dallas County. Jackie is trained and certified in various types of therapy modalities to provide individualized services that can assist you with your mental health and well-being goals such as, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT & CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Jackie is committed to working collaboratively with clients to create empowering goals and provide the highest level of care. Jackie approaches the therapy process with warmth and openness. Looking to utilize the strengths of the client and to empower them in their healing process.

Jackie witnessed the cultural stigmas of people attending therapy in her family. She knew at a young age that she wanted to do something to change this pattern of thinking and help others in a meaningful way. She believes every person deserves a high standard of therapy, regardless of their background. She volunteers for the Local Outreach Team for Suicide Survivors (LOSS), providing support to family members who have lost a loved one to suicide.

When Jackie is not working, you can find her spending time with family and friends. She enjoys being outdoors and traveling.
