Prior to working in the mental health field, she taught high school Spanish in the DFW area. Amy Jo offers counseling for adults and couples, and she specializes in grief and loss, relationship dynamics, life transitions, anxiety, and depression.
Approaching counseling through an Adlerian lens, Amy Jo aims to help individuals make connections and see patterns in their personal history that allow them a clearer view of the present, giving them an opportunity to grow. Widowed at a young age with small children, Amy Jo relied on her faith, the support of others, and counseling to walk through the fog of grief. She later had the privilege of working with individuals who had lost loved ones as a group leader in Grief Share. Now, she is part of a big, blended family, with all the challenges, along with all the joy. These experiences have given her a passion for sitting alongside others who have experienced loss and who are wanting to reimagine a new life.
Amy Jo is married and has two fluffy labradoodles. Outside the office, she loves to cheer for her children on the sports field and play Mahjong. She is a member of the American Counseling Association.

Annie Tam, LPC
Ages 18+, EMDR Certified · Performance Enhancement · Motherhood · Perfectionism · Overwhelm
Annie Tam is a Licensed Professional Counselor, student intern supervisor, and founder of MEND Counseling. Various post-college jobs in the French Alps, Paris, and a suburban high school, all led her to find a passion for helping others mend their hurt and uncover their potential. Since then, Annie has spent the last 17 years working in schools and private practice doing just that—helping individuals connect to themselves and rock their lives with authenticity, grit and intention.
After counseling in school and private practices, Annie opened MEND Counseling in 2016 at Highland Park Place. Although she hadn’t thought much about creating a group practice, God had other plans for MEND. It has been a joy-filled journey to create a unique, collaborative firm where therapists get to consult, grow and have fun together, and clients feel cared for, seen, and accepted. Around the same time, Annie created Talk Therapy Dallas, a group that meets to help both new and seasoned therapists network and navigate the counseling world.
Annie specializes in supporting working mothers, entrepreneurs, and perfectionists in building self-confidence, embracing their identity, and creating a wholehearted life rhythm. She has an active, humorous, and direct approach to counseling and is motivated by seeing change and growth in her clients. Annie is certified in EMDR which she uses to address trauma, disordered eating, and enhance performance. Your safety and acceptance is her priority in order to create an environment that fosters your holistic growth and freedom.
She offers coaching and consulting services in addition to counseling. Increasing self awareness and understanding of how her clients relate to others along with goal setting and accountability is at the heart of coaching. Annie is available for presentations and consultations in schools, churches, businesses and groups. She also enjoys consulting with other therapists to help them grow and gain confidence in the amazing work they do each day. In 2020, she cofounded A+K Collective, which provides workshops, 1:1 concierge coaching, “momchic” renewal retreats for the everyday mom, and refreshing couples retreats.
When Annie is not working, she can typically be found trying to keep up with her two rambunctious boys, enjoying a pilates class, or checking out a new restaurant around town with her husband. She loves strong coffee, anything French, and being outdoors. Her motto is, “You gotta tend it to MEND it” which she daily infuses in her clients lives as well as her own in order to LIVE WELL.

So often people of all ages suppress uncomfortable or big feelings in efforts to protect themselves from feeling isolated or less than. They wear a smile on their face, masking the internal pain they are silently carrying. Over time, this leads to stagnate personal growth and increased emotional dysregulation and physical distress. Each person has a sacred story to tell and with that story comes emotions that can be overwhelming. Kelly is honored to walk with you each step of the way as you are present in your story and make meaning of past experiences and current feelings. Through this you can evolve into your truest and healthiest self.
In her free time Kelly is most likely teaching hot pilates, spending time with her husband and 2 daughters, catching up with friends, or “reading” aka listening to mystery and thriller books. An ideal afternoon for Kelly would be having a clean house, opening the windows to let fall temperatures in, all while resting cozy on the couch with a fuzzy blanket, a tall glass of decaf ice tea in hand, and binge watching reality TV.

Morton Nixon, LPC
Ages 18+, Work Issues · Perfectionism · Shame · Parenting · Burnout · Navigating Relationships
Morton Nixon, LPC received his masters in counseling from SMU, after a major career change from a decade in corporate sales. It took having a child (as well as a good therapist and a supportive spouse) to finally realize that you do not have to settle for being unfulfilled at work. Often that takes shape as anxiety, depression, shame, overthinking, low self-worth, perfectionism, work stress, parenting problems, life transitions, and recovering from new or old traumas. There are options in our lives that we do not have the perspective to see and parts of ourselves that we have cut off to fit someone else’s mold. Morton enjoys helping clients feel more secure and authentic so they can be more of who they are.
Morton helps clients with practical tools like effective communication, emotional coping, and boundary setting. At the same time, he helps clients to put those skills in the bigger context of their lives, what gives them meaning and purpose. He is honored to partner with clients in exploring their stories to understand how they got to where they are and how they want to write the next chapter. He provides a secure place for clients to ask the big questions about their lives without getting lost along the way. Morton has a direct, non-judgmental, empathetic, and humorous style in therapy.
When he is not doing therapy, you can find Morton with his family either attending kids’ soccer games, doing art projects, or just getting baby snuggles. He invests most of his free time with his wife, 3 kids, and new sheepadoodle puppy. He also loves stories in all forms from movies and TV to books and podcasts. Stacy Henry, LCSW

Stacy Henry, LCSW received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University and continued her education, obtaining her master’s degree in social work from University of Texas-Arlington. She began her career as a social worker working for a faith-based, inner-city ministry, where she developed a deep passion for serving and supporting individuals far beyond material needs. The majority of Stacy’s decade plus social work career to follow was spent in the outpatient setting at Children’s Medical Center, providing long-term support to families caring for children with significant medical complexities. Throughout her career, Stacy has also had the privilege of working with victims of domestic violence and those walking through complex pregnancies and infant loss.
Stacy is passionate about meeting people right where they are at, taking the time to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship. Stacy specializes in treating individuals with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, interpersonal conflict, and complex family dynamics. Stacy has experience supporting individuals who are caregiving for a loved one, as well as those walking through the foster care and/or adoption process. Using a variety of treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI) and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), Stacy works alongside clients providing them with the insight and tools to move forward in their current season of life.
Oftentimes we assume everyone around us is doing well and we convince ourselves that we are the only ones struggling, which can leave us hesitant to seek support. Stacy highly values the courage, transparency, and vulnerability that it takes to enter a therapeutic relationship. Through partnering together, Stacy hopes to help her clients find moments of hope and joy, even in the depths of angst and despair. Stacy’s focus is not to “fix” the situation, but rather to empower her clients to have the tools they need to move toward health and healing.
Outside of work, Stacy enjoys spending time with her children, traveling with her husband (when he plans every detail) and serving within the women’s ministry at her church.
